TEAMThanks to all the listeners who made #24Hours24DJs a HUGE success this year! The level of engagement with the listeners, students at York University and the city itself was monstrous – so much so that #24Hours24DJs was trending on Twitter! Needless to say, when you have 24 DJs repping for 4 different teams, there’s going to be a HIGH level of trash talk, but it was all in good fun. The winning team was Team Soca Prince, so congrats are definitely in order, but the 2014 Coaches Award goes to DOC — ok, that’s not a REAL award, but he deserves it anyway!

Seriously, not only did this showcase the level of skill and talent the DJs have, but this was a phenomenal way for CHRY 105.5FM to kick off it’s annual fundraising drive! Thanks to everyone who listened and tweeted the votes for their favourite DJs and Teams. Due to the success of the kick off, even more people know what an awesome station CHRY is, and how important it is to the city. Want to donate? Keep listening to CHRY 105.5FM in Toronto, and lock them in online at www.CHRY.fm for more details on how you can contribute. The World Cup of Comedy Returns For “The Rematch”

JUICE Comedy’s “Juice Cup: Africa Versus the West Indies,” returns for a 2nd year! Presented by Ritz Caribbean Foods, this night of side-splitting comedy features a line up of 6 international and local comedians in head-to-head battle, where celebrity judges and the audience collectively crown the winner! The JUICE Comedy Show takes place on Sunday November 17th, inside the luxurious Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street, Toronto).

Hosted by G98.7 FM’s beloved morning hosts, Mark Strong and Jemeni, the show teams up the city’s best comedians against each other for an ultimate battle in comedy supremacy.  Representing Team Africa is Arthur Simeon, Toronto’s own “Bad Boy of Comedy”, TRIXX, plus a surprise guest (to be announced the night of the event), and coaching the team is MC Bonde.  Battling it out for Team West Indies areJay Martin, Jean Paul, Sterling Scott, and coaching the team is none other than Dr. Jay.

Since 2010, JUICE Comedy’s “Juice Cup: World Cup of Comedy” presented a concept that was both simple and interactive, yet unlike anything else in Toronto: Take some favourite local and international comedians, and compile them into two teams to bring the most hilarious, side-splitting comedy battle of the year to the city. Celebrating our cultural differences through laughter, this contest places Team Africa head-to-head against the comedic talents of Team West Indies. With a supporting cast of coaches, judges & cheerleaders, including many familiar faces from television, radio, and Toronto’s music & nightlife industries, Juice Comedy Cup is poised to be one unforgettable night.

Last year, Team Africa was named the winner, so audiences and competitors alike are geared up for THE REMATCH!  The 2012 and edition plus all previous JUICE Comedy shows have been sold out, so audiences are encouraged to grab tickets early!

Tickets are available through TicketMaster and the Toronto Centre for the Arts Box Office.
