Ghettosocks Works his Magic with Stolen Kicks ft. PumpkinHead

September 7, 2011

Big ups to Ghettosocks on this one!! I finally got to meet Socks this past Juno season, when he performed at UMAC’s UrbFRESH nominee showcase.  His energy is phenomenal, and if there’s one thing that’s undeniable, it’s that this dude loves hip hop – and it’s infectious!  I was in the front row throwing my hands in the air like a fool – his live show was THAT dope.  If you ever get a chance to see him perform live, show some love and tell him Boogie sent you….

In the meantime, peep his new video for Stolen Kicks. Fun and silly, outside of the song itself, the dopest part of the video is the WTF look the old lady gives him while he’s working his magic – take a peek for yourself and see below for more deets on Ghettosocks .

JUNO Award nominated Hip Hop artist, Ghettosocks, unleashes a third video from his critically acclaimed album, Treat of the Day, with the single Stolen Kicks featuring PH (aka Pumpkinhead).

Shot in Toronto while Socks was attending NXNE earlier this year, the video was produced by Lithium Studios (who also produced the fan favorite video for the More or Les and Fresh Kils joint, “Pop-N-Chips featuring Ghettosocks and Timbuktu”) and was directed by Darrell Faria. Stolen Kicks was produced with the assistance of a MuchFact Video grant award, and will soon be in rotation on MuchMusic and MuchVibe (please request it!).
Along with co-star, Brooklyn New York rapper PH (aka Pumpkinhead), the video features cameos by homegrown rap stars Muneshine, D-Sisive, DJ Frame, More or Les, Apt, and Bix who also produced this track.
Ghettosocks is a JUNO nominated, and ECMA Winning, Hip Hop Producer and MC. Strongly influenced by early ’90s Golden Era Hip Hop, Socks delivers a tasty serving of Hip Hop goodness that will satisfy the most demanding of rap gourmands.
Pumpkinhead, hailing from Brooklyn N.Y., is known as a battle Champion Holding 2 Braggin Rites Championships under his belt and End of the weak challenge champion. PH has toured the world to places such as Japan, Australia, Sweden, Amsterdam and over 40 states. He has opened up for the likes of rock group the Goo Goo Dolls, Bootcamp Click, Kanye West, Ghostface, Big Daddy Kane, The Lost Boys, Tony Touch, Jedi Mind Tricks and has headlined his own shows all over the U.S.
