Not much to say on this one other than Salute to General and the Born Hungry team for staying heavy on the grind over the years.  General’s new single, Mi Yute teams him up with Sample King on the mic and Rich Kidd on production, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

I can’t believe that 2010 is already a blur of memories, but I gotta say that I’m AMPED for the new year!!  I’m always in search of dope MCs, and dope female MCs seem to be few and far between – although hopefully not for long.

I was introduced to Mae Day by the legendary MC Serch after we interviewed him on DD Radio a few years ago – it’s no real surprise that she hails from Detroit.  It was when Serch was co-hosting Miss Rap Supreme on VH1, alongside Yo-Yo (ok, it was back in ’07, so yeah that was more than a few years ago).  He told me then and there to keep my ears open and eyes wide for Mae Day, a  female MC who can SPIT!! True to his word, Mae Day lived up to my expectations.  She teamed up with Mick Boogie for the Cherish the Day collabo (if you’re a Sade fan, do yourself a favour and DL as soon as you can!), and made some serious noise off that mixtape alone.

On Jan. 3rd Mae Day decided to kick off  2011 with a bang, bless new and old fans alike with “103”. All I have to say is she goes INNNNNNNN like a beast and literally eats the mic! If it’s any indication of her upcoming project, Love & War: All Ain’t Fair, I can’t wait to hear it.  Check out “103” here:
